In most cases, no referral is needed. However, some insurance plans may require one—our team is happy to help you verify your benefits before your visit.
02. What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your visit will include a thorough evaluation, discussion of your concerns, and a personalized treatment plan. We prioritize clear communication so you leave knowing exactly what to expect next.
03. Do you accept insurance?
While medical dermatology is our focus, we love to talk cosmetics. We offer select aesthetic treatments designed to enhance your natural features while maintaining a balanced, refreshed look.
04. How do I know if a spot or mole is concerning?
If you notice changes in size, shape, color, or symptoms like bleeding or itching, it’s important to have it evaluated. When in doubt, it’s always best to have it checked.
05. Do you treat chronic skin conditions like psoriasis or hidradenitis suppurativa?
Yes. We specialize in managing chronic skin conditions and offer advanced treatment options, including biologic therapies and long-term care plans.
06. What if I’ve already tried multiple treatments without success?
We frequently see patients with treatment-resistant conditions. Our approach is thoughtful and stepwise, focusing on finding the right solution for you. It is helpful if you bring pictures and or lists of anything applied to your skin.
07. How quickly can I get an appointment?
We strive to see patients as quickly as possible. Availability may vary, but urgent concerns are prioritized.
08. What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring your ID, insurance card, current medications & skin care regime, and any relevant medical records or previous biopsy results.
09. Do you perform procedures in the office?
Yes. Many procedures, including biopsies and lesion treatments, can be performed conveniently during your visit.
10. Do you offer Accutane (isotretinoin) treatment?
Yes. We provide comprehensive monitoring and guidance throughout your treatment to ensure safety and optimal results.
11. Do you treat skin conditions in all skin types?
Absolutely. We are experienced in treating a diverse range of skin types and tailor treatments accordingly.
12. Do I have to fully undress for a skin exam?
For a complete and accurate skin exam, we do ask that you change into a gown so all areas of the skin can be properly evaluated. However, your comfort is always respected. You may keep undergarments on, and we can work around any areas you prefer not to have examined. We aim to be thorough while also making sure you feel at ease throughout the visit.
13. Can I decline certain areas to be checked?
Yes. Your exam is always your choice. If there are areas you prefer not to have examined, just let us know. We may recommend evaluating certain areas if there is a medical concern, but we will always explain why and respect your preferences.
14. What if I can’t reach your office after results?
If you’re unable to connect with us, please leave a message or use the patient portal. We make every effort to ensure all results are communicated and addressed promptly.
